The ceremonial launch will take place at the Rohan Design District festival

The twenty-sixth volume of the prestigious publication Czech Architecture is ready to be unveiled. The ceremonial christening and official launch of the book will take place on 10 June 2026 in the inspiring setting of Prague’s Invalidovna, as part of the Rohan Design District festival. This festival, which organically connects contemporary architecture, design and the transformation of the city directly in the environment of Prague’s Karlín, will provide the new annual with the best possible backdrop for its launch into the world.

This year’s book, subtitled Slow Buildings, will bring a curated selection of 35 of the most interesting domestic and international projects, carefully chosen from a total of 180 submitted projects by editor and architect Jan Schindler. If you want to look under the hood of contemporary architectural practice and get to know its courage and thoughtfulness, the new annual should definitely not be missing from your library. You will be able to purchase it immediately after its official presentation.

The central theme of “slow building” will undoubtedly resonate throughout the entire evening ahead. The subtitle openly points to a phenomenon that Czech architects deal with every day – extremely long permitting processes and bureaucracy, because of which the implementation of projects in the Czech Republic commonly takes six to twelve years. From the moment it is presented, the new annual will thus serve not only as a showcase of aesthetic forms, but also as an important social commentary and a mirror of the state of domestic building permitting. We look forward to seeing you at Invalidovna.
