I am interested in the limited editionThe ARCHIZOOM shelf, designed for 25 years of architecture
Over twenty-five years, the individual volumes of the Czech Architecture Yearbook have grown into a comprehensive archive of Czech architecture. Many of the volumes are now out of print or hard to find. ARCHIZOOM BOOKS is therefore publishing a reprint of the first twenty-five volumes, together with a limited edition with a designer shelf, numbered from 1 to 50.
Jiří Krejčiřík designed the shelf specifically for this edition. It is not merely a piece of storage but an object in its own right, turning the yearbooks into a coherent library. The design works with the contrast of materials and surfaces — ash veneer with a polished high-gloss lacquer and a matt aluminium profile. It is sized for forty books, so it will also hold the volumes published over the next fifteen years.
The limited edition is intended above all for architectural practices, collectors, institutions and schools, and for anyone who follows Czech architecture and design.

Original design meets precise craftsmanship
Jiří Krejčiřík
Jiří Krejčiřík, Designer of the Year 2025, designs furniture, lighting and objects under his own label JIRI KREJCIRIK and also works on commissions for private clients and companies. His work sits on the boundary between design and art, with an emphasis on context and precise detail. His objects are handmade in the Czech Republic. His work is held in private and institutional collections, including the Moravian Gallery in Brno, and is exhibited in galleries and showrooms in Europe, the USA and Australia.
“From the very beginning, we did not see the brief as designing an ordinary shelf. The twenty-five volumes of the Yearbook are an architectural archive in themselves. We wanted to create an object that does not hide the books, but instead gives them dignity, rhythm and space.”
Made by LUGI — joiners to Czech architects
The shelf is made by LUGI, a Czech company with a long record of working with architects and designers on bespoke interiors and furniture. The Yearbook project thus brings together book culture, design and precise joinery.
“The Czech Architecture Yearbook is a natural project for us. We work with architects, we understand their emphasis on detail, and we know that a good bookcase is not just a piece of furniture. It is a place where the memory, inspiration and work of an entire profession are kept.”
A quarter of a century of Czech architecture
The Czech Architecture Yearbook has been published every year since 1999. Each volume presents a selection of, as a rule, thirty-five buildings from the Czech Republic, an editorial essay, an interview and an overview of the competitions, awards and events of the period, in Czech and English. Each volume was prepared by a different editor from the Czech architectural scene, giving the series a diversity of views and changing perspectives. Side by side, the twenty-five volumes form a comprehensive archive of how cities, landscape, public space and housing have changed.
“The Yearbook is not just an annual selection of buildings. It is the memory of Czech architecture. When you place all twenty-five volumes side by side, you suddenly see much more than individual buildings. You see how society, cities, public investment, taste, technology and the ambitions of architects have changed.”
