Czech Architecture Yearbook 2025—2026

The prestigious yearbook Czech Architecture is entering its next edition to once again bring an independent curatorial perspective on the best that has been created in our territory in recent times. Since 1999, this publication has been a respected chronicle of Czech architectural culture. Each volume opens a deep discussion about values, sustainability, and the cultivation of the public space around us.

For the upcoming 2025—2026 volume, the symbolic editorial baton is being taken over by the acclaimed architect David Richard Chisholm (CMC architects). The unique model of annual editor rotation ensures that this time as well the book will offer a completely new, original signature and specific selection criteria, which David will enrich with his international context and sensitivity to urban space. Follow the preparations for the new yearbook, find out which lines in contemporary creation this year’s curator will highlight, and be there as the next chapter in the history of Czech architecture is born.

Application criteria

Only construction works and architectural realizations that meet all of the following criteria may be entered for selection in the Czech Architecture 2026 yearbook:

Period of realization (2025–2026) with completion guarantee: Works may be entered in the yearbook if they were or will be completed, approved for occupancy, or put into operation in the years 2025 and 2026. The decisive date for final completion of the realization may be up to 31 December 2026. If the applicant submits an entry for a work that is not yet fully completed at the time of the deadline (30 September 2026), by submitting the application they irrevocably guarantee that the building will be demonstrably completed in the declared form by the end of 2026. In the event of failure to meet this guarantee, the publisher reserves the right to remove the building from the yearbook without compensation.
Geographic freedom and authorship belonging to the Czech Republic: The building may be realized anywhere in the world. The essential condition, however, is that the author or co-author of the architectural solution (project) must be an architect, designer, or authorial team from the Czech Republic (or a studio registered or permanently operating in the Czech Republic).
Exclusivity and the condition of not having been previously published: Only works that have not yet been published in any previous edition of the Czech Architecture yearbook may be entered in the current edition. The aim of this measure is to ensure the lasting originality, novelty, and documentary value of each individual volume of the yearbook. Repeated submission of the same work, once already selected, is not permitted.
